Kathy Cyriacks
OWNER
Gracie’s Plant Works started from humble beginnings in 2003, selling my organic tomato, vegetable, and herb plants at the Ely Farmers’ Market, accompanied by my constant companion/puppy, Gracie. I find pleasure working with plants and creating beauty, and being a part of the Ely community.

MANAGER
I was born and raised in Ely but have not always lived here. I recently retired from an almost 30-year career in nursing. I have found myself back at work doing what I have always loved, which is being creative in floral and botanical design. I once owned and operated a flower shop and have always loved the design. I am so happy to be doing the things I am passionate about. It hardly feels like work! Fun fact about me, I was once chosen as 1 of 5 Florists in Minnesota to curate and decorate the Governor's Mansion for Christmas. It was a fun and crazy experience. I am honored to be part of Gracie's Plant Works team.
“I will always be grateful for my crew's dedication and hard work, the clients who have trusted me with their jobs, and the people of Ely who have helped my business succeed.”

Todd Cyriacks
SITE MANAGER
I am an accountant by trade, but my role as site manager and heavy equipment operator for Gracie's allows me to express my creative side. Having my wife as a boss is an added bonus!

Jon Boese
CREW
I am a Marine Corps veteran (Afghanistan) and a professional fishing guide. I own Soturi Tackle here in Ely, making custom fishing lures. I enjoy installing flagstones and the physical work of landscaping. Still, I can be convinced to talk about fishing if a customer asks!

Myles Moris
CREW
I am from St.Paul and have been coming to the lakes around Ely since I was a teenager. I spend my free time sitting in my kayak and enjoying the ecology of the north woods.

SHOP
Even though I am in my 90s, I am active at the shop, helping with the watering, the arranging, or any other job that requires an extra hand. Behind the scenes, I am in charge of bringing treats to the shop for the girls and making cookies for the boys. My greatest joy is meeting and visiting with all the lovely customers when they come to Gracie's and being a part of the Ely community.

I work on the landscaping crew and am learning a lot about planting trees and shrubs. It’s fun to be at all the different job sites and meet all the nice people.

SHOP
Kathy and I have been best friends for 40 years!
I recently retired from corporate America, but retirement only lasted 6 months before I got a job at Gracie’s. My husband and I live in Ely year around and enjoy the lake with our 2 black labs.

CREW
I’m originally from the Twin Cities, but love Ely. I have worked as a guide, a chainsaw handler, and a naturalist. I enjoy paddling on the lakes in the evening and traveling. Check another box: Working at a greenhouse was on my bucket list!
